Chapter 10

“Tyrone, you’re not listening to me. It seems like you’re lost in space lately. What is going on with you?”

“Nothing, I hear you. Will you just shut the fuck up, I’m trying to hear the news!”

“I’m getting sick and tired of you talking to me any kind of way. Now I understand you’re going through a lot with this custody battle, but you won’t keep taking it out on me. What’s going on? When is the court date?”

“Why you asking? You could care less as long as you get your nails, feet, hair and shopping sprees then you’re okay,” Tyrone coldly responded.

“That’s not true! I’m concerned and worried about you,” his female companion said, lying. She could careless but wanted to know what was up with him being home every day getting on her nerves. When was he going back to work? That money needed to keep on flowing. So far, so good but if that money stopped, then they had problems. Patrice was trying to secure her future and working wasn’t one of them. He could have all the bitches he wanted, plus she knew he still wanted his ex. Mama ain’t raise no fool. That baby mama of his had a hold on him, and if he thought for one minute that all the abuse she was putting up with was in vein, then he was the fool. Tyrone did whatever he wanted, when and how. No wonder she left his ass. Glad she did because my closet is stacked, Patrice thought to herself. Lately with him being distracted, she was steady spending. He would do anything to get her out of his face. Credit cards it was and shopping, she was.

“Patrice, is the food ready? I don’t have all night. We need to pack,” Tyrone yelled.

“Pack? I didn’t know I was going. And the food has been done, I told you your plate was ready a long time ago.”

“Oh, sorry baby, guess I didn’t hear you. Can you heat it up for me? I will be in there in a minute.”

“Sure, but why do I have to pack?”

“Because I’m not sure how long I will be gone and I need you there.”

“Tyrone, it’s not good for me to travel right now.”

“Why the hell not? You have nothing else to do but file your damn nails.”

“That’s how I know you haven’t been listening and paying any attention to me. I’m pregnant!”

“Oh no, not another one. Are you serious? What happened to your birth control? This is some bullshit! Well we can get that taken care of up there!”

“Get what taken care of, because if you think for one minute I’m getting rid of this baby, I’m not!”

Tyrone jumped up and got in Patrice’s face. “Bitch, you trippin. You think you’re gonna stick me like that? It ain’t happening! I got enough fucking problems and that baby ain’t gonna be one.”

“Get out of my face. I didn’t see this coming either but it happened and I don’t believe in abortion,” Patrice responded.
